Non sporting interest and talent was there to be seen at a very young age joining a local judo club at the age of 11. Non`s natural talent for judo was there to be seen right from the beginning by securing her first Welsh International call up at the age of 13. However Non`s sporting talents didn’t just lay with one sport she was equally as talented in two other sports rugby and weightlifting.
Non`s phenomenal all-round sporting talent has brought her many successes in three different sports. Non became Wales’s finest female rugby player winning 71 caps for her country a truly remarkable achievement, her ability and level did not go unnoticed by impressing the Nomads team of selectors(British Lions)where she added a further 6 caps to her long list of successes.
Non`s success have also become widely recognized in weightlifting/powerlifting winning many titles at international level. Non`s remarkable all round sporting ability gained her history in becoming the first woman ever to compete in two separate sports at the Commonwealth Games competing in the judo and weightlifting events.
Having many successes through her sporting career Non has also featured as a presenter working for S4C and also appearing on the tv hit program Gladiators where she made it through to the semi finals of the show.
Super Schools Wales are delighted to have such a talented athlete involved in the initiative and look forward to introducing Non to Welsh schools.
